Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs is authorized to act for the President of the University in requesting the UW Division of the Attorney General’s Office to commence legal actions on behalf of the University or the Board of Regents whenever such actions are intended to advance or protect the interests of the University, provided:

  • The Provost consult with the President prior to execution;
  • No litigation will be instituted against a public entity or official or in exercise of the power of eminent domain without consultation with the President and the Chair of the Board of Regents, or if the Chair is unavailable, the Vice Chair of the Board of Regents.

Vice President for Student Life

The Vice President for Student Life is authorized to act for the President of the University in requesting the UW Division of the Attorney General’s Office to commence legal actions on behalf of the University or the Board of Regents to enforce the terms of leases or agreements with tenants in University managed student housing facilities.
