APS 44.3 – University Employment of Minors

(Approved by the Executive Vice President by authority of Administrative Order No. 9)      

1.  Policy

University employing officials may employ minors in compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) regulations. These regulations establish recordkeeping requirements and restrict the type of work a minor may perform and the hours a minor may work.
